It's Friday

Well, indeed it is Friday, and boy am I ready for the weekend. Nothing big going on, I just need a little break. I don't feel all that well, and it will be me and the girls for most of the weekend, but I do have a lot to get done in the next month and I plan on starting it all tomorrow.

Last night I finally got around to taking some pictures of our new house. I promise pictures will be up by Monday. I had hoped to show you some before and after, but it all depends on how much time I end up spending on the whole thing. I do have homework to do, flower girl dresses to make, pictures to hang, and a garage filled with boxes of stuff I still need to go through.

On another note, these last couple days have been productive. I finished a bunch of stuff at work, worked out extensively, got out of jury duty (yea!!), paid off a large amount of bills, and caught up with some very special friends from school. And the most exciting thing: the Killers tickets I ordered arrived yesterday. A sold out show in KC awaits and I am soooo looking forward to it. The last concert I went to was the Distillers show in Lawrence on my birthday last year. I got to meet the band and get pictures and autographs, so that one will be hard to beat.

And, on a funny and not-so funny note, my four year old, Phoenix is getting pretty sassy. We were in the store yesterday and she asked for marshmallows. I was trying to avoid buying anything made solely of sugar, so I said "No, Phoenix, I'm not buying them...I don't even know where they are in this store." In the most sarcastic, junior high girl voice she replied, "HELLOOOO, we just past them back there!!" A lady who was several feet behind me laughed out loud. The incident was not near as embarrassing as when we got to the check out line behind an elderly woman in one of those motorized chairs. She was digging through a bunch of coupons and crap in her purse and was taking a while getting her stuff sorted. Phoenix said loudly, "Mom, what is taking that grandma so long?!?" This girl and her sister are going to cause me major grief from now until eternity.............

speaking of shows...

my brother's band is touring this month and one of their stops is unexplainably topeka. you should check it out. their website is:

www.blacktiedynasty.com

don't let the gothic tinge ruin ya, i'm not sure about the "artistic direction" of the band, but their music is good. he plays the keyboard and they are worth checking out.

you know, I'll check them out. They're playing at the Boobie Trap....should be very interesting. You know, with all this time on your hands, I think you should be a groupie.
